そのプレイヤーは自分の持つ駒を将棋板に置きます。

彼らは順番に駒を移動させ相手の『王』を追い詰めて行きます。

将棋は日本へは奈良時代に齎されたと言われています。

そして今の将棋のルールになったのは室町時代とされています。

将棋に似たゲームが世界中にあります。

例えばチェスです。

チェスは２人で行い、黒と白にわかれ１６個の駒を持って対戦します。

チェスもまた相手の王様を追い詰めるゲームです。

将棋とチェスの起源は約５０００年前のインドに見ることが出来ます。

昔の物は４人で対戦していました。

黄色赤緑黒と違う色の駒を使っていたのです。

一人８個の駒をこのゲームでは使用しました。

その後、チェスは様変わりしヨーロッパに齎され、（今の）チェスとなったのです。

またアジア諸国に齎され将棋に変わりました。

昔のルールは世界中で次第に変わってきています。

色や駒の数も同様に変化しています。

現在の中国では黒と赤それぞれ１６個ずつ使用します。

今日もたくさんの人が将棋とチェスを楽しんでいます。
